Darling’s budget
09/03/2008 by admin.
I went to the UK launch of the Toyota Prius - the hybrid which politicians want us all to drive - a few years ago. They FLEW me to Heathrow and then I drove for a day through the Middlesex countryside.
It was a pleasant enough drive but the Toyota press office was a little embarassed when we checked the mpg….38mpg! I have since had a Saab diesel which regularly returned 50mpg and my present Honda CRV “gas guzzler” will easily give me 45 mpg.
Yet the chancellor has decided to tax 4×4’s to death, apparently.
And that is why I shall redouble my efforts to afford Mercedes M class!!!!!
