Transport crush

I thought the 09.45 from Littleborough to Manchester (the first cheap off-peak train of the day) was full but the 14.54 back was standing room only.
So full, in fact, that the shoppers daren’t even think of trying to reserve the seats next to them with bags. I stood. There was a seat nearby occupied by a little girl of about two. Personally, I would have put her on my knee so someone could sit down but her mother couldn’t do that….her lap was occupied by Primark bags!!!!
