Virgin on the ridiculous…
12/01/2009 by admin.
I met Tony Collins, chief executive of the Virgin Rail group before Christmas to talk about the new timetable. Virgin, remember had wanted to postpone the new “Very High Frequency” timetable until May to let the West Coast Main Line work bed in.
Collins was cautious about trumpeting the new timetable, even though, between Manchester and London, it is the most frequent long distance service, probably in the world.
How right he was. Since the start of the year we have had a plane crash, two overhead line failures and now, today, flooding which has closed the line to Scotland.
How can you plan for that?????
